PAY RATES

Departments/employers will be given a budget for student employment for the fiscal 09-10 year. They will be able to determine the student's wage and the number of students that they hire within the budget.

  $7.25 - $7.99

Level Two

  $8.00 - $8.99

Level Three

  $9.00

INSTITUTIONAL EMPLOYEES

  • 20 hours per week is the maximum number of hours that students can work.
  • Institutional employees must maintain 12 hours per semester (9 hours for graduate students) for the academic year.
  • Students must be enrolled full time in academic year in order to work.
  • Institutional employment is open to full time graduate and undergraduate students.

FEDERAL WORK STUDY EMPLOYEES

  • Maximum hours to work per week will be determined by the amount of the Federal Work Study award in the students' financial aid package (maximum of 20 hours per week).
  • If a student declines their Federal Work Study award, they forfeit the opportunity to work on campus.
  • Students must maintain 6 hours of enrollment (graduate and undergraduate) per session of attendance in order to be eligible for FWS.
  • Federal Work Study is open to graduate students if they have a Federal Work Study award in their financial aid package.    
  • Students must be enrolled at least half time in the academic year in order to work.   

WORKING DURING SUMMER SESSION  

  • Maximum number of hours for institutional employees will be 20 hours per week.
  • Maximum number of hours for federal work study employees will be determined by their financial aid award not to exceed 20 hours.
  • Students must be enrolled full time (both graduate and undergraduate students) in the next academic year in order to work.

SELF SUPPORTING/GRANT PROGRAMS

  • Self supporting areas/auxiliary programs may set their own pay scale because they pay 100% of their students' wages.  However, it is recommended that the University's scale be followed.
  • Hours are limited to 20 hours per week and the students must follow the enrollment guidelines as listed above.
  • Students (both graduate and undergraduate) must be enrolled full time in the academic year in order to work.

WORKING DURING BREAKS

  • All students must receive permission from the Student Employment Office to work during any break.
